Bespoke corsets & gowns commissioned by some of Honey Bee's clients.

These are a selection of photographs real women in their own beautiful gowns and corsets handmade by Honey Bee Corsets.

Dawn's outfit consists of a ballerina length skirt, a steel boned corset shaped to enhance her lovely shape and a smart, fully lined bolero jacket. This ensemble is made entirely of silk. The corset is embellished with corded and beaded lace and the top layer of the skirt is gathered to one side with handmade silk roses.

Karen wanted a fabric which would make a splash and a corset shape which would flatter her shape and height. This long-line corset is made up in an Alexander Henry printed cotton called "Los Novios" (also available with a cream background - please see the 'Gowns' and 'Cartoon Corsets' page for images) and has black silk boning channels. Chiffon roses' trim and a detachable shoulder strap complete the look which Karen described as "beautiful".

Megan's gown was inspired by 1880s' fashions especially for Whitby's Goth Weekend 2011. In common with many Honey Bee customers, she was very much involved with the design process.

Polly Pockets' corset and bustled skirt is based on 'Gothica'. She chose a sumptuous royal blue silk and the corset features a complementary blue tartan silk.

Kirsty's 21st birthday party frock. Kirsty chose a full skirt in black silk with layers of net topped off with a matching corset decorated with a corsage of handmade silk flowers.

Susan's corset featuring dancing skeletons against a bright red background.

Tina's Tattoo print corset.

This black and ivory silk two-piece was made for Gemma to wear to her friend's wedding. She especially liked the silk roses on the skirt; the outfit was "perfect" she said.

Leslie wanted something striking for her wedding in Spain this summer. She chose a simple combination of black, white and silver silks. Her daughter Emma, was bridesmaid and chose a stunning fuchsia and purple two piece. Both mother and daughter look lovely!

Honey Bee always welcomes back clients and we were delighted when Sarah returned to us for a knee length fit 'n' flare skirt and a corset which featured straps. The colours are fantastic: a combination of antique gold and russet ginger silk.

Charlotte's prom dress was made of inky blue silk and the full skirt was supported bylayer upon layer of black net. We liked this young yet sophisticated dress so much that we plan to make another to show very soon!

Sue chose an oceanic green silk with turquoise trim for her corset. Handmade silk roses complete the look.

Becky's wedding gown was a joy to make: the "Gothica" gown in ivory silk featuring an extended train with embroidered details in gold thread (just seen), a flattering three-quarter length sleeve on the bolero and gold ribbons throughout.

Her mum Rita, kindly wrote to us after the wedding to tell us how gorgeous Becky looked: 'everyone admired the dress. What a result!'

Rachel's steampunk inspired gown comprised two-pieces made of the finest black silk and trimmed with lilac velvet ribbon. The apron skirt, which is bustled at the back, is reminiscent of the 1880s'; the steel-boned corset features Honey Bee's classic ribbon and eyelet detailing (the feather cape is Rachel's own). Rachel was delighted with the dress and we think she looks stunning!

Michelle. For her special day, Michelle wanted a period-inspired wedding gown. She chose a design based on the Gothica gown with an extended train and additional ribbon and eyelet details on the skirt. She also chose a hat to complement her outfit. Afterwards, Michelle wrote to say,

“Thank you for the wonderful job you made of my beautiful wedding dress. Everyone who attended and everyone who has seen the photos have said what a fantastic dress it was.”

Ellen's Bridesmaids. Ellen, who had ordered a waspie (a type of underbust corset) from us, asked Honey Bee to make corsets for her bridesmaids. She supplied the fabric and we made them up to her design. The results are three strikingly beautiful bridesmaids!

Lynn’s corset. Lynn loved her bridesmaid’s corset so much that she asked Honey Bee to make her another one in a peacock blue silk with black silk paneling. We think that she looks beautiful and she was kind enough to say, “Thanks for your genius creations.”!

Freya’s prom dress.
Freya wanted a simple but striking dress for her Year 11 prom. She chose these amazing colours from the extensive choice available to us and asked for embroidered butterflies on the bodice and netted skirt. The simple silhouette is unfussy and so complements her petite figure. In truth, she was the Belle of the Ball.

Sarah. Sarah wanted her corset to feature a sumptuous blue-green crushed silk velvet – gorgeous to the touch – with a complementary green silk. Her corset was made-to-measure and featured a front centre opening and boning throughout for comfort and support.

Celia's gorgeous gown in a beautiful ivory silk, presents a beautiful silhouette. Celia loved the fishtail skirt and her steel boned corset, which includes shoulder straps and is set off at the back with gold ribbon laces.

Mandy has always wanted an emerald green gown for her wedding day and Honey Bee Corsets was happy to oblige! Her silk gown, which is based on the Gothica design, comprises three pieces, features eyelets and ribbon details on the bust and hip gores.

Mandy was so thrilled with her lilac silk corset, that she came back for more! This time, she opted for a beautiful Chinese silk brocade.

Little Miss Chaos models a beautiful gown in optic white and silver silk. The bodice is based on the design of Elizabethan bodies and is boned with steel for strength and dried water reed for 16th century accuracy. The skirt is very full and comprises an underskirt and embroidered overskirt. Both garments were later sold but Honey Bee Corsets looks forward to another lady commissioning this gown for her wedding or ball!

Pat chose a simple and elegant two-piece gown in that stunning shot effect wine coloured silk combined to make Pat’s dream wedding gown. This was Honey Bee’s first wedding gown and we were delighted to have been involved in her special day.

Gillie fell in love with the look and the feel of this crushed silk, hand-dyed velvet. She was right: she looks gorgeous!

Mandy loves her crushed silk velvet corset in a stunning green/blue colour.

Emily loved the eyelet and lacing detail on her corset. The bust and hip gores in cerelean blue silk against the black make this corset a stunning, eye-catching piece.

Celia's corset is made from scarlet silk trimmed in black: all the better to flatter her already lovely figure.
